Acquiring Math Prerequisites Efficiently and Scalably with AI

This grant supports the development and validation of an AI-powered platform to help UC San Diego students with highly varied mathematical backgrounds progress efficiently through preparatory mathematics material required for credit-bearing courses. Activities include validating the AI student model, enabling individualized data collection, incorporating facial expression analysis for engagement tracking, and assessing effectiveness at scale. The project expects to reach approximately 600 students and 30 faculty members.
